Your Camping Gear Plan

How the Camping Gear Checklist & Storage Planner Works

This planner turns six quick answers into a packing checklist for your camping trip. It is built for people who want one clear plan: what to pack, which bin it goes in, and what goes into the car first.

Here is what it asks:

  • How long your trip is, from a weekend to a longer stay
  • How many people are coming
  • Which gear groups you bring, such as shelter, kitchen, lighting, furniture, clothing, hygiene, tools, and games
  • When you need each group at camp: first, every day, or only if needed
  • What storage you already own, like bins, duffel bags, a cooler, or a roof box
  • How much space your vehicle has

Your plan puts each gear group into its own bin or bag, with a checklist and a short reason. The loading order works backward from camp. Gear you need first goes into the car last, so it comes out first. Gear you rarely need goes in first and stays packed.

You can print the result or save it as a PDF. It includes a notes area and a final checklist. The plan is a general suggestion. It does not cover weather, campsite rules, fire or food safety, or your vehicle's load limits, so check those yourself before you go.
